Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) KTO Karatay University's 2024 Sustainability Report, which details the university's commitments and efforts in the area of sustainability, has been presented to the public. The report outlines the projects implemented, the measures taken, and the strategic goals set for the future in the fields of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
The results of the "UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023," which aims to raise global awareness of environmental issues at universities by highlighting factors such as campus environment, infrastructure adequacy, energy usage, transportation, education, and research, have been announced. According to the ranking results, Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University ranked 557th in the world, 50th in Turkey, and 12th among foundation universities.
Aiming to provide services to its students and all stakeholders at a certain standard and quality, Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University carries out important studies to facilitate the lives of disabled students in particular with its student-friendly campus facilities.
Studies have been initiated to register the measures taken to protect public health in the field of hygiene and sanitation within KTO Karatay University with the ISO 13811 Hygiene and Sanitation Management System certificate.
KTO Karatay University’s Solar Power Plant Project was initiated in 2015 to meet the university’s electricity needs within the scope of the Mevlana Development Agency’s Financial Support Program and was completed in 2017. A grant of 572,500 TL was provided for the project with a budget of 683,000 TL. With 780 solar panels placed on the roof of Block A of the university, 312,410 kW of energy is produced annually, which meets 10% of the university’s total energy needs.
